Beads on the Ave (in the Pineapple Grove District)
151 NE 2nd Ave
Delray Beach, FL 33444
561-278-6977
http://www.beadsontheave.com
· Take Rte 95 to Rte 806 or E ATLANTIC AVE EXIT in Delray Beach.
· Go EAST toward the beach 1.4 miles and pass the Delray Beach Tennis Center and then Old School Square on your left until you are in the area where diners eat out on the sidewalks.
· Turn LEFT onto NE 2ND AVE / PINEAPPLE GROVE WAY (Note: not NE 2nd Street and not NW 2nd)
· Go North about 0.2 mi and watch for the store on your right just after the 1st St and before the 2nd St intersections (There is an umbrella, table. and chairs in front on the sidewalk).
· Park on the street or across the street from the store in the private parking lot or up the street on the right in a public free parking lot. There is also a parking garage but there is a charge.
· You have gone too far if you pass the Delray Camera Store on your left.

Yes, bring your clay, pasta machine, work surface, and tools! We spend about an hour playing with the technique that was demo’d during the meeting, sharing tips and tricks before calling it a night.

Bring your friends- the first meeting is always free to come out and meet us.

We are creating a non-profit organization, that’s in the works- so we do have some business to tend to during the beginning of each meeting. Mostly reports on the month, what happened last time (to catch you up), treasurer’s report, etc. Then we do show and tell- so if you have something you would like to show off, please do bring it!

After that, we have a demonstration on a particular technique. The guild members propose something they would like to learn about or see done, and someone with the skills to do it volunteers to provide the information and demo at each meeting. Afterwards, we have some fun experimenting with the technique. If you have a special request, be sure to email Kira to let her know what you would like to see. Email: studiobijoubeads@yahoo.com.

Our members are involved in two charities: Hearts for Heroes, and Bottles of Hope.

Hearts for Heroes is a program which allows polymer clay artists to connect with active-duty soldiers at war, and veterans healing in VA hospitals. We create small hearts, under the size of a quarter, which are attached to a special poem thanking the soldiers for their bravery and for keeping us safe. These are sent to them on a special swivel which they can then attach to their dog-tags.

Bottles of Hope are for those suffering from, or healing from, the effects of cancer. Their daily lives are often filled with medicine bottles- which we take and transform into beautiful pieces of art, which become “Bottles of Hope.” Anyone can make one, and members of our guild will be sure they get into the right hands.

Read more about both:
